[TL] Just Fantastic :) May 27, 2010 |
Fantastic - I really like that word. It just comes off the tongue in a sharp, peppy way. I need to think of more days as fantastic ;) Anyways, on to your regularly scheduled Tiger Lily! Yesterday I had the opportunity to listen to a fantastic speaker locally - Kelli Stapleton of the podcast Birth Stories on Demand. Kelli spoke at a luncheon one of our local women's magazines holds for women in business. A friend forwarded me an email about the luncheon a few days ago - we'd already arranged for Scott to be home that day so I could attend a homeschool curriculum showing without children in tow. The luncheon ended up being held right next door to where the curriculum show was. Talk about everything working out perfectly! I loved listening to Kelli talk about her experiences with beginning Birth Stories on Demand and I really enjoyed getting the chance to speak with her. We talked briefly about her bringing me in as a guest on one of her podcast episodes, so I will keep you up-to-date! She gave me a copy of her book as well, so I will review it for you soon! Otherwise this has been an exciting week for us - we're wrapping up our homeschool year and should be done next week. I'm excited about that, and so are the kids. It's hot enough here that we were able to set up a little kiddie pool for them - and they've been begging to go in every day since. I hope the appeal lasts all summer. Galen loves it when I give him the chance to get in. He's a natural! The hot weather also means Galen is mostly diaper free and he's doing great! I'm thrilled with how naturally he sits himself down on his little potty when he needs to go. There's still a miss here and there, but on the whole he uses his potty most of the time. I am shocked by just how many times a day he pees, lol! I wanted to thank you again for answering the baby feeding survey. I got a ton of great responses that were really helpful. As I said on the survey, I'm hoping to release the guide by late June and I want to make sure it's a resource that families can really use. There are just a few Q&A questions this week, but two more birth stories! I love birth stories and these two are inspiring. Enjoy! ~Kristen
----------------Birth Stories ---------------- Evangeline's Birth - lovely home birth with pictures :) - I didn't get Evangeline's birth story up last week so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss it this week! Enjoy! Michelle's Baby - nice natural hospital birth. Mom works through long pushing stage.
----- Finding the genotype of an unborn baby? Could bleeding after sex mean I'm pregnant? Moving onto Milk - can you share any weaning advice or experiences with this mom? Does arguing affect my unborn baby? - I think this is a great question. Feel free to share your thoughts with this mama! Preparing to Get Pregnant - I love answering preconception questions... I think it's such an exciting time :) ------------------------- Natural Birth and Baby Care's Facebook page is growing by leaps and bounds! Give your thumbs up to NBBC right on the page: NBBC on Facebook!. Share Your Little One! - I would love to see some summer babies! Take care and have a great week - I'm getting ready for a yard sale this weekend, fun fun! If you need a baby carrier, stop by ;) ~Kristen |
