Tiger Lily, Issue #009 -- The Pink Kit Review is Finally Here!
February 16, 2008

From the Editor:

I'm writing to you from snowy Michigan, USA, where we are settling into our new home! Thus far the kids are enjoying the snow and I'm completely charmed by it ;) It's such a change moving from somewhere where it never snows.

We're all enjoying the change even with the stress that comes along with a big move. I've been taking time to get used to the new town - a new library to take the kids to, new parks to explore in the snow, and new grocery stores. And it seems like everywhere I look there are new babies!

I am always reminded of Natural Birth and Baby Care.com and the good I hope the site does mothers and babies. I love reading emails from you. You let me know what I'm doing right - and how I can improve.

Since I'm still working hard on the house I'm going to do a review of Natural Birth and Baby Care.com's popular articles again this month - with one big exception. I've finally gotten my review of the Pink Kit done - I know I've been promising it for months. Keep reading to find out how you can check it out!

Have a great month, ~Kristen

Featured Articles

  • The Vaginal vs. Cesarean Birth article: I have had quite a few emails about vaginal birth vs. cesarean birth, so I thought I'd highlight this popular NBBC article, which deals extensively with the debate.
  • Homemade Baby Wipes Recipes - another often asked question is "how can I make my own baby wipes?" Here are several easy to make recipes!
  • Natural Pregnancy: this is the place to start if you're newly pregnant or have some specific pregnancy concerns. I cover a whole lot of ground in this section!

Product Reviews

The Pink Kit Review is finally here!! I've promised it for months, and I've worked hard on it. My short opinion on the Pink Kit...it's the best childbirth resource I have found. It will give you an excellent preparation for birth.

Book Reviews

With the move I only got one book review done this month, but the book is a little gem. You'll want it on your shelf:

Raising Baby GreenI was impressed with this book. Simple, easy to read, and packed with good information. The section on feeding babies is worth the price of the book!

And this isn't a book review but I wanted to share this birth story because of the beautiful photos: Tara's Baby - enjoy!

Please feel free to share your own birth story so more women can benefit from empowering stories!

Featured Recipe

I mentioned KerryAnn's traditional foods menu mailer service in the last Tiger Lily. I had enjoyed several of her recipes at that point. With the move this month I decided to use a few of KerryAnn's pre-planned menus. I am so incredibly impressed! The food was excellent and having the menus and food preparation planned out for me was such a sanity saver! I can't recommend her service highly enough.

Instead of a recipe this month I want to direct you to Kerry Ann's sample week menu planner - just click the .pdf file and download. It's tasty and teaches you exactly how to plan your food preparation. The roast chicken is exceptional! Enjoy!
