Tiger Lily, Issue #019 - Freezer Meal Plan, Birth Day, Special Report and More
September 16, 2009

From the Editor:

We're back home and settling in after a whirlwind end of our North American summer. We visited family in August and then I devoted the rest of our "summer" to planning homeschool lessons. The past week and a half has been wonderful with a perfect Labor Day holiday and an excellent start to the school year. My children are enjoying their lessons and I'm enjoying being back to the school year routine.

One benefit of that routine is I get time in the afternoons to work again! I've been able to get several projects wrapped up and I really think you'll enjoy them. Be sure to read the entire newsletter to find out what I have for you!

I'm also continuing to work on my new website (which I'll share with you when I've got something "live" to share!). It's been a lot of fun to get to go "back to the beginning" and start up a new site from scratch. I really think building websites is an excellent business for moms!

Fall is rapidly approaching for us and with it comes more time for cuddling, for writing, and as always, counting our blessings. Enjoy your upcoming month!

I sent an email out to you a few days ago, but in case you missed it, I've completed my special report on the top home childbirth courses. Since I'm offering it to new Tiger Lily subscribers I want to give you the opportunity to download it. Just go to this page and click the link or the image!

Don't Wait Until Your Water Breaks

I've made some big changes on the website. No real "new" material so-to-speak, but I've restructered the "natural birth" section to be easier to navigate. I actually broke it into two pages, so take a look, and let me know what you think!

Natural Childbirth Basics

Preparing for Natural Birth

Feeding Galen - Maybe Not: I detail the curious and slightly worrying adventures of trying to get Galen to eat solid textures.

EC'ing Galen - an update on EC'ing Galen - things were harder for a bit but seem on the upswing!

Product Reviews

My big "review" of the month was getting the special report done, so enjoy that!

You may have noticed a course in the report is "Birth Outside the Box" - this course used to be called "Birthright." (I reviewed it in a previous issue of Tiger Lily) Same great information - new name. Be sure to read the in-depth review on Birth Outside the Box to find out just why it's in the top three!

Book Reviews

Birth Day - I really enjoyed this book. It's a truly great piece of writing with lots of fascinating information. Check out the review for more details.

Featured Recipe

I've been getting a lot of questions on my freezer cooking adventure before Galen's birth, so I decided to pull all of my recipes and planning together into one freezer meal plan for you. You can download that from this link:

  • Homemade Baby Food - I was comforted by a couple of the articles on this site dealing with babies who are having trouble with solids, so I thought I'd share with you.
  • Adahy's Cloth Pad Patterns - if you're using cloth diapers you may have thought about "mama cloth" and how it can enhance your own comfort. I came across this site in my research and really liked it.
  • Food Storage Made Easy - September is the USA's National Preparedness Month. If you're hoping to get together some basic emergency supplies for bad weather, a 3-month storage for hard financial times, or even a complete year of storage this site is excellent. They offer a "baby steps" email series that will really help you get your preparations started, no matter what you'd like to accomplish.
