Awaiting Benjamen

At 42 weeks, we were very ready to meet our first son! This picture was taken at the Birth Center in our city on a warm June evening around 8:00 p.m.

I had labored lightly for part of the day and at the point this picture was taken, was dilated to 6, using the warm water to ease the contractions.

The little string on my wrist was from my Birth Blessingway in which five other women wore strings as well until they knew of our baby's arrival. Our sweet boy was born two hours later from the time my husband took this photo, completely natural and perfectly healthy.

Perfect Shot!
by: Kristen

I love this photo Rebecca. What a beautiful shot to have from your labor.

I also wore a bracelet from my blessingway up until Galen was born. It gave me a lot of strength as I waited for labor and as I worked toward his birth - I love that other women are using this tradition!
