Baby Movement

I am in my second trimester and my baby has not kicked in about 2 days..I was wondering if I should be worried.

Answer:

Shannon,

Any time you haven't felt your baby kick and feel concerned you should call your doctor or midwife.

It may be nothing, but your mother's intuition is already very good. You can get an ultrasound or have your doctor or midwife listen for the heartbeat to reassure yourself.

If you want to you can try and drink some juice or eat something sugary and then lie down - this often gets a baby up and moving and can help reassure you (just don't make sugary stuff a habit!)

But I think if you feel concerned it's best to call your care provider. If baby has been moving often and then stops, it doesn't hurt to get him or her checked out.
