Bleeding?

For weeks and weeks I have thought I am pregnant I have every symptom possible and I'm scared. All of a sudden I started bleeding but it was very very light and very very scary. The bleeding only lasted for maybe 5 hours. Am I pregnant or not? What's going on?

Hi Corky,

Have you taken a pregnancy test? Home pregnancy tests are very reliable and can usually tell you you're pregnant within days of a missed period.

Sometimes spotting or light bleeding during early pregnancy happens and the pregnancy continues normally.

I recommend that you take it easy and call your doctor or midwife if you're really worried. Red spotting or bleeding is a good indication that you should call your care provider just to get some advice. Brown spotting usually indicates old blood - you may still want to call for advice, but usually things are fine and you can just take it easy.
