Blood Drawn Two Days in a Row During Pregnancy?

I am six months pregnant. Does it harm my baby to have have blood drawn two days in a row?

Answer:

I don't think it's going to harm the baby, but I do think you should try to take it really easy.

I would suggest you try not to have anything else scheduled the days you're having the blood drawn - especially not on the second day. Go home and just rest. Read a book or watch movies .

I would also recommend that you eat very well, both in the several days before the blood draws and for several days after.

Eat foods that are high in protein and high in iron (animal sources that will be easy to absorb.) Also be sure you're getting plenty to drink.

These precautions should help minimize the effects of the blood draws on your baby, and also on you.

Good luck to you!
