Can I Schedule an Early C-Section?
I'm 8 months pregnant and my expected date of delivery is July 4th. My husband has to leave for some business on June 13th. My question is, can I go for a c-section by June 9th?
Answer:
Planned c-sections are often scheduled early, often around 39 weeks. They're rarely schedule before 37 weeks, however - so a June 9th cesarean for a July 4th due date would be very rare.
It's best for you to discuss your wishes and worries with your doctor, because he or she can advise you best on this matter.
I do know it's scary to think about giving birth and taking care of a newborn without the support of your baby's father. I gave birth to my second child, Asher, with just my midwife and attendants, and took care of him and a toddler alone throughout his newborn months. It was a challenging time, but also very empowering for me to realize that I was able to give birth naturally and care for my child on my own.
I wish you the best on your own journey towards mothering your baby, and wisdom as you make the best choices for both of you.
