Can We Have Sex During Pregnancy?

I'm now three months pregnant and I'm wanting to know how to have sex safely. Or can we have sex without hurting the baby?

Answer:

Hi Arti,

Sex during pregnancy is safe for the baby. If you have had repeated miscarriages or have been advised by your doctor or midwife to abstain from sex, then it's best not to. Otherwise sex is safe and enjoyable all through pregnancy.

As you go through your pregnancy you may find that you prefer certain positions. Go by what is comfortable for you. If something does not feel good, do not do that. You may want to avoid positions with deep penetration or very forceful sex, but really sex is enjoyable and safe during pregnancy.
