Looking for the best childbirth classes? Well, you're right where you need to be. I've had four babies, and I worried about the pain, just like you do. I wanted a course that would help me handle natural childbirth (in all its glory!) and feel like I'd done well and had a good birth. I've reviewed all the childbirth class options - my reviews are unbiased and objective so you can choose what course is best for you. Have fun preparing for your baby's birth!
Publisher: The Common Knowledge Trust
Website: The Pink Kit
Great For: All Birthing Women
The Pink Kit is the best way to learn childbirth skills and techniques from the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of your own home. The course is DVD, audio, and book based, so you really only need a computer that can play DVDs (or a DVD player and a CD player) - and your pregnant self, of course!
The Pink Kit gives you the tools and skills you need to have an excellent birth. It's designed for all mothers - from first time mothers, to mothers with several children, to mothers trying VBACs or even planning cesareans. It does an excellent job explaining the basics all women need to give birth, then moves into practical skills to make your birth the best birth possible.
There's plenty of practice exercises. The techniques and exercises are gathered from mothers, fathers, birth partners, midwives, doctors, and families. They've stood the test of time and have been developed into a proven method for birthing better.

Great For: First Time Moms and Moms New to Natural Birth
If you've tried unsuccessfully to figure out what all the doctor's, midwive's and hospital's terms and procedures for birthing are, you may have decided you're just going to wait for labor and hope for the best.
Just wait - that's where a course like Birth Outside the Box gives pregnant mothers a huge advantage - it's written in clear, down-to-earth language and it explains everything you need to know. Plus it gives lots of practical advice for managing labor and having a great birth.
The course is mostly textbook based (ebook or hard copy - your choice), but there is audio and an online backend to help enhance your experience and learning.
Birth Outside the Box is perfect for first time mothers, or mothers who are new to taking charge of their birth experience. It's a perfect compliment to the Pink Kit, and I always recommend the two together because they both enhance each other.
Publisher: Hypnobabies Network
Website: Hypnobabies
Great For: Moms Looking for a Pain Free Birth Method
If you thought pain free childbirth was something made up by crazy "crunchy" mothers who live deep in the jungles an eat only fruit... well, you're in for a surprise. To be honest, I was really skeptical about Hypnobabies when I was first told about it. Just how helpful could a course like that be?
I typically try and stay away from the pain-free childbirth method discussions, but in this case, I'll make an exception. When using Hypnobabies during my last pregnancy I discovered that, despite any hype or contraversy, it's actually a really well-laid out childbirth class.
The audio quality of the program is superb, and the weekly childbirth lessons are excellent. It does a great job of immersing you in positive childbirth conditioning, and does a good job covering natural childbirth basics.
It does recommend you use Hypnobabies exclusively, which is why I give 4 stars - I think techniques like those shared in the other courses are important to learn, too. However, in Hypnobabies defense, it gives the exclusivity recommendation because they want you to remove any focus on pain from your mind (you reprogram your beliefs about pain and childbirth with the program).
A note for you: I work hard to write complete, honest reviews for you. The above reviews are unsolicited, and I am a consumer and user of the resources. I do make a small commission if you buy through the above links, which helps support this site.
