Does Chamomile Tea Make You Queasy?

I had a cup of chamomile tea just before going to sleep. When I woke up, I felt very queasy. Could there be a connection between the tea and my nausea?

Answer:

Actually, chamomile tea is often used as a remedy for nausea and queasiness. It's a very gentle herb that helps calm the entire digestive system and, as you probably noticed, helps you calm down and sleep.

Are you in early pregnancy? If that's the case, nausea is pretty normal. Actually, nausea can be normal throughout pregnancy. If you're having problems with nausea in the morning I recommend you have a protein-heavy snack before bed, and again in the middle of the night when you wake to go to the bathroom.

Many midwives report their clients have success with leaving some cheese and an orange slice beside the bed to have when they wake to go to the bathroom.

If you're not pregnant, I would look at other possible causes of nausea - perhaps something else you ate?
