My baby girl is 2 years old and after taking a shower her skin becomes dry. I want to know what kind of shower gel and lotion are the best for her.
Thanks.
Answer:
Hi Fatane,
I haven't used many shower gels for my kids so I don't have recommendations there. When we wash them I try to just use warm water for cleaning off dirt and such. If they have grease or something similar on their hands from food I use Weleda Calendula Soap (or the baby soap version). This soap is very, very gentle.
Weleda products are my absolute favorites for all soaps and skin care. When my little ones have dry skin after a shower or bath, I like to use Weleda Calendula Lotion. It works well for day-to-day uses and I will use it even on newborn skin.
For lots of dry skin and chapping, I think the Weleda Calendula Cream works very well. As the name suggests, it has a thicker, more substantial consistency. It's good also to use in those creases in "baby fat" rolls that sometimes get chapped and raw.
My midwife's assistant with Cassidy, Asher, and Brennan first brought me a Weleda product sampler and I have used their products ever since because they're so gentle on little one's skin :)
