I am O Positive, My Husband is A Negative

I am 5 months pregnant and my blood group is O positive. My husband's blood group is A rh(D) Negative - is my baby safe?

Answer:

Hi Suma,

Your baby is fine. Your body does not mind if the baby is Rh- (there is about a 1 in 4 chance that your baby will be Rh-) and won't react in any way.

It is only if the mother is Rh- and the baby is Rh+ that there could be a problem.
