She missed her period in October and November, now it's December and she has old blood coming out. Is she getting her period or is it just old blood its dark brown?

Hi Roy,

Sometimes women do have blood show during early pregnancy. Generally dark brown blood is the best to see, because as you said it is old blood and it's usually not a cause for concern.

However, you should be able to confirm pregnancy with a home pregnancy test at this point. Or her doctor can confirm with a blood test. If you or she is very worried you can also ask the doctor to do an ultrasound scan to be sure everything is ok.

The other approach is just to wait and see if more bleeding occurs - it could be a late period finally coming on or it could be a miscarriage.
