Is the Transverse Position Normal?

In my 7 month scanning report, the doctor said the baby is lying in transverse...what I want to know is this a normal position?

Hi Devi,

The transverse lie means your baby is lying from side to side in your belly. It's not an unusual position, but you don't want your baby in that position when you go into labor.

Since you are just at seven months along now, there's a huge chance your baby is going to turn on his or her own and go into the head down position.

You can do some things to encourage your baby to stay in a good position. Swimming is often thought to be helpful. Not slumping back in chairs (sit up straight and lean forward slightly) is helpful. This article will give you some more ideas:
