More Energy!

Just wondering what you recommend to get more energy during pregnancy...I'm about 2 months along.

I find if I eat 3-4 boiled eggs a day, I feel better.

Thanks for your help.

Answer:

Happily for you, you'll probably find you get more energy as your pregnancy progresses.

I have always felt exhausted during the first couple months of pregnancy, and that gradually wears as I get past those first weeks.

It's so common that exhaustion is a good early pregnancy sign!

You've found a good tip yourself - extra protein is an excellent way to get an energy boost. Eating small, frequent meals to keep your protein levels and your blood sugar balanced can help.

Other than that, rest when you need to. If you need an extra nap during the day, take it. Go to bed at a good time.

Good luck to you and I hope you see your energy levels improve soon!

Chlorophyll
by: Anonymous

It is normal to be tired during pregnancy. But sometimes exhaustion goes beyond what is "normal". During my 3rd trimester I ended up being slightly anemic, which made me absolutely exhausted.

My midwife recommended drinking chlorophyll to help, as I had a really hard time with iron supplements. I got a lot of energy back after that. Also, I hardly bled at all with the delivery, and the midwife suggested the chlorophyll had something to do with that.

I'm not sure if it was a miraculous cure, or just a placebo effect, but I figured if you're putting something natural (like a plant extract) in your body, then at the very least, it couldn't hurt.

World Organics makes a great mint-flavored liquid chlorophyll you can just dilute in water (although I'm sure the other products out there are great as well). Seems weird at first to drink something green, but I came to really enjoy my twice-daily glasses. It was like drinking iced green tea.

Exhausted Already!
by: sgreen16

I am about 7 weeks along and am sooo tired too! I didn't realize the exhaustion hit so early! I'm a person who loves to sleep anyway, and can sleep 10 hours normally. Now, if allowed, I will sleep 12 straight hours! And nap if I get the chance. I may take your advice and try to eat more protein to see if that helps! Thanks!
