Ovusoft Fertility Charting Software
Have you been looking for an easy way to keep track of your cycles? I have a lot of women ask me about charting their cycles and the different options they have.
I've been using Ovusoft for months to track my cycles (Update - Ovusoft helped me get pregnant, see the bottom of the page for more!!) It's excellent software. If you want computer software to track your cycles as you try to conceive (or try to avoid), this program is great!
What Ovusoft Does
It allows you to input all the basics - basal body temperature, cervical fluid, and cervical changes. It also lets you track intercourse, ovulation kits, pregnancy tests, and more. In short you can track everything about your fertility.
Ovusoft has a stardard chart that allows you to see your temperature graph. It also lets you see your cervical fluid "build up" (look at *this chart to see an example of that.) These are great features that let you see at a glance how fertile you are. The software draws your coverline for you, so you don't have to figure that out!
You can look at your signs in chart format or in calendar format. The calendar is a great way to get a quick look at your cycle. I like to have the software predict my fertility. Don't depend on this feature to be 100% accurate (no computer will predict your body perfectly) - but it's great to get a general idea on where you'll be in your cycle. If you want to plan vacations, trips, or other events around your period or fertile time this feature will help you do that.
Personalized Fertility Info
The fertility advisor gives you an overview on what's going on with your body day to day. It analyzes your fertility information for the day and gives you advice based on what you've input. It will let you know if you're fertile or infertile. This feature is perfect as you're getting to know your own body and understand fertility cycles in general. It helped me a lot.
You need to understand how to interpret your own chart, because sometimes computers get it wrong - but I've been really pleased with Ovusoft's advice and interpretations of my fertility information.
Another useful feature is the fertility planner. Hoping for a baby? Planning to conceive in the future? Input the due date range you'd like your baby to have and Ovusoft will predict when a good time to try to conceive will be. It will even plot that information on your calendar. It's based on your own cycle history and Ovusoft updates itself as you count down the months to conception.
If you're looking for a computer charting solution you can't beat Ovusoft. It's a one time fee, your data is saved and backed up on your computer, and you get access to the Ovusoft online support forums. These forums are hopping with lots of helpful information and lots of other ladies using Ovusoft. You can upload your chart and get help if you're confused with anything. I've found the forums to be very helpful. And the upload feature lets you share your chart with any TTC community you're part of :D

Update 06/08:
Kristen's update - I used Ovusoft to track fertility for 16 cycles. My cycles were somewhat regular but I had a really short luteal phase and I ovulated very late. Studies have shown both factors can make conception harder. I started trying some natural methods for improving my cycles (a fertility supplement and dietary changes) and using Ovusoft to keep track. Over several months my cycles improved and became very regular with ovulation between days 13-15 most months! My luteal phase was also a healthy 14-15 days.
During this time of improving my own cycles and health I used Ovusoft to pinpoint ovulation each cycle (and Ovusoft helped me notice one anovulatory cycle).
When we decided to TTC I took the knowledge I'd built using Ovusoft, and of course the software itself ;) Ovusoft predicted a range of dates for me to become fertile, and as I input my fertility information for that month it picked out the perfect dates for us to try for a baby. I figured my ovulation date based on fertility signs and Ovusoft agreed with me. We'd hit my ovulation date right on. 10 days later I got a postive pregnancy test. And after 18 days of high temperatures Ovusoft flagged my cycles as pregnant and predicted my due date (based on my own ovulation day!)
Needless to say I'm thrilled. Thrilled to be pregnant and very pleased with the software. I'll be using it again once our new baby is born.
