Recommended Pink Kit Timeline

The Pink Kit is an extensive resource and it can be hard to decide where to start! Luckily the PK authors have a recommended timeline. This is the timeline that Scott and I used as we prepared for our baby's birth.

You start the Pink Kit just a little over halfway through your pregnancy. You can, of course, compress this time line if needed. I do really recommend you begin at 24 weeks because that gives you the most amount of time to really understand the material.

From 24 weeks to 28 weeks along work through:

  • New Focus: Breath, Language, and Touch

From 28 weeks to 32 weeks work through:

  • The Pink Kit Video (on DVD or VHS): Just go through this section by section.
  • The Companion Guide
  • The Pink Kit Childbirth Skills Guide Book

At 32 Weeks add:

  • The Internal Work: Do this from 32 weeks! I strongly feel this is one of the reason why Galen's delivery was incredibly easy and I had no tearing, bruising, or "skid marks" - even with Galen's head having almost no molding!

At 35 weeks work through:

  • Managing Skills

And from 36 weeks on:

  • Listen to Birth Journey
  • Review the rest of your PK resources and continue your Internal Work

What Worked for Me

What worked for Scott and me was to follow the suggested timeline. We simply worked through each resource over the course of the recommend weeks. There was a lot to read through, especially at first, but all the information is absolute gold.

The Pink Kit has streamlined the program a little bit since the edition Scott and I used. But you can see the general progression and how things went for us by reading through my Pink Kit walkthrough.
