Sharp Pain in Front Lower Abdomen

When getting up and walking, sometimes I have a sharp pain right in front. In my lower abdomen. It only lasts a few seconds. What could be causing this?

Answer:

During pregnancy such sharp pains or strong pulling sensations can be normal. Your ligaments and muscles are stretching a lot to accommodate your uterus as it grows.

It's especially common to feel these sharp pains/pulling when you get up after sitting for awhile. The ligaments have relaxed as you sit and pull when you wake up and they take the full weight of your baby and uterus on them again.

If you're concerned about the pains, however, it's always best to err on the side of caution and ask your doctor or midwife for an opinion.
