Very Faint Line on My Pregnancy Test

by Gauri
(Doha Qatar)

On my urine pregnancy test the other pink line (the test line) is so faint - does this mean I'm pregnant or not (because it's so faint!)

Answer:

There's a saying on many trying to conceive boards: "a line is a line" - usually if your home pregnancy test shows a line, no matter how faint it is, it's a positive test!

If the line is absolutely gray there's a slight possibility that it could be what's called an "evaporation line." But if there's any pink at all in it - which is sounds like there is, that's a positive test.

I have three boys, and they're all very faint test babies.

You can see pictures of my tests with Galen - the first is especially faint, and now he's a healthy, happy toddler:

Congratulations on your positive test!

Faint Line
by: Anonymous

Thanks for posting this. I have been so worried about my test being so faint. I have already had it confirmed that I am pregnant, but after reading about faint lines I find out there is something called Chemical pregnancy. It is where you can get a positive test before you expect your period, but miscarriage soon after. So now I am very worried again. I found out 5 days before my expected period that I was pregnant, and I still have a couple days before I should start. I decided to take another test last night with the same early test strip you took yours with once again I barley got a line, but I also took a digital and it said pregnant. I am trying not to worry to much, because I know its in God's hands but it is hard.
