What Happens During a Natural Birth

I want to know what happens and what the nurses and doctors do to the patients if they have pain killers. Just wondering what happens and what are the steps.

Answer:

Hi Mikaela,

Natural birth is, as you probably figured out, a natural process that follows a pattern perfected by nature. I have a written description of the stages of labor and birth you may find useful.

If you prefer to watch, I've done a video on What to Expect During Childbirth.

Many doctors and nurses are supportive of natural birth - and they're also usually pretty supportive of women who have pain relief. Women who have chosen pain relief are generally more compliant patients - they do what they're told and stay put. But women who have a natural birth are often more aware and more awake, so it's good to weigh both sides of the issue.
