I want you to meet one of my friends - she's passionate about helping women prepare for good births!

Her name is Kristen Burgess… and Kristen is mom to eight (!!!) babies born naturally and the creator of NaturalBirthandBabyCare.com

Kristen started as a teen mom and faced challenges to planning a successful natural birth right from the start.  As her family grew, she had to figure out how to stay healthy and prepare for a good birth while life moving at a lightning-fast pace.

She also struggled with body image… and how to overcome the negative images and stereotypes of childbirth that surround women everywhere.  Birthing her babies has given her strength, joy, and confidence that has helped her as a mom, and that strength has helped overcome the many challenges life brings.  Her experiences have fueled her passion to help other moms plan for a great birth and experience the joy and benefits of powerful, intentional birthing.

While figuring out HOW to stay healthy, juggle life, avoid pregnancy aches and pains, and grow a healthy baby she has done some things really well and some things, well… not so much.  Sometimes she felt queasy, grumpy, and achy - and sometimes she felt downright terrified of labor!  She did a lot of research but often felt overwhelmed at the sheer volume of information: some of it was good, but a lot of it seemed… not-so-good.  Sometimes it was inspiring but not practical.  Sometimes natural birth seemed like a great choice, but other times she wondered if it was selfish or really what was best for her baby.  Today Kristen feels pretty confident about growing and birthing babies, but she remembers where she came from - confused and not sure what (or who) to trust… wanting the best for your baby but also wanting an experience that honors the awesome transformation of becoming a new mom.

So she decided to take on a research project to discover practical ways moms can have a healthy (and comfortable pregnancy), plan a natural birth, and start off their mothering adventure with confidence!

This research project has turned into an interview series, where she is interviewing 21 speakers who are passionate about helping moms prepare for awesome births (including me!).
