Scope 007: Calm & Connection vs. Fight or Flight!

It's incredibly important to understand how hormones work during birth.  Many of us know the “fight or flight” system and how it kicks up adrenaline (epinephrine) and other panic/danger hormones in our body.  While they do have one place in birth (watch the video below!) – we generally want to encourage a much less-known system during our birthing time… the calm & connection system.

This system is fueled by oxytocin and plays a crucial role in pregnancy and birth.  You need to understand this system if you want to have a great (and safe) natural birth!  Check out the video below 😀

Be sure to join me live on Periscope weekdays – @birthbabycare on the Periscope app on your phone or tablet at 1pm eastern (every weekday but Wednesdays!).  Can't wait to have you there and answer your questions!
