Did you just hear “it's twins?”
Congratulations! I get a lot of twins moms emailing me, asking if natural birth is possible for twins. There's a great chance you can have your twins naturally. It's best to work together with your medical team to make sure your twins are happy and healthy. This could be a midwife – seeing a midwife for primary care while consulting with a perinatologist (maternal-fetal medicine specialist) is an idea. A perinatologist is a specialist who knows twin pregnancies well. If you choose care with a regular OB, I'd recommend consulting with a perinatologist/MFM during your pregnancy
Healthy twins need the same things that a healthy singleton does… only more of it!
Your excellent pregnancy diet is vital to growing large, healthy multiples and carrying them for as long as possible. Doctors such as Dr. Barbara Luke have assisted mothers with hundreds and hundreds of multiples pregnancies and their statistics tell the truth – nutrition is important! Please read the nutrition information in Dr. Luke's book.
Prepare for your twins' birth just as you would for a singleton: take natural birthing classes, read great birth stories (of twins and singletons), work through concerns and anxieties, and create a plan that works for your unique pregnancy
