Which Birthing Preparation Course?

by Jennifer Gault

I have decided to invest in one or more of the home study birth preparation courses you have recommended but I'm really confused as to which one would be most appropriate?

There are so many to choose from – please can you give me some advice?

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my first baby and have so far found your website extremely helpful. Thank you!

Many Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

It can be really hard to decide which birthing course to go through, because they all have good aspects to them.

Getting comfortable with your body as it prepares for birth is really important. As a first time mother you want to have confidence when you go into labor. Confidence comes from developing the skills needed to handle whatever form your labor takes – fast, long, little pain, lots of pain, doctors, midwives, etc. etc.

For excellent information on healthy pregnancy, childbirth techniques, interventions (and avoiding them), and feeling prepared and confident for birth, our MamaBaby Birthing course offers online classes. The info on interventions is well-researched and will help you truly understand procedures that may be offered to you – and your baby. As I mentioned above, it also has basic childbirth info (such as the stages of labor) that you will find helpful.

A good compliment to our classes is href=”https://www.naturalbirthandbabycare.com/childbirth-dvd/” rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>The Pink Kit. It is a truly unique skills class because it teaches you how to work with your unique body. It is also great for partners. The two of your work together to learn how the birthing body works, and to learn skills that you can really use during labor.

A recent birth story I got highlighted this well – the birth partner was using the skills so effectively that he didn't realize that he was the one making labor “easy” for the mom! He quickly realized it when he stopped helping her and she let him know she needed him 🙂 Check out Jamin's story to read about it!

Let me know if you have any other questions and enjoy your pregnancy! It's an exciting time 😀
