At what point in time in a pregnancy does the head of the baby engage in the pelvis of a first time mother ?? Are there any specific do's and dont's for this to happen??
I am 33 years of age and am 31 weeks pregnant and also a first timer. Please give advice.

Hi Chinky,
Usually baby engages in the pelvis of a first time mother about two weeks before labor begins. This is an average and isn't always the case, but it's frequently how it happens.
You don't really need to do anything to get your baby to engage as it usually happens quite naturally. However, if your baby is in a good position you can encourage your baby to nestle deeply in your pelvis by doing deep squats and climbing stairs.
Babies usually don't engage until the beginning of labor in subsequent pregnancies.
