I had been thinking about a natural birth since I had an epidural with my first son; he came 2 months early and I didn't like the epidural whatso ever. I had no control over my body or anything that was going on around me.
I was due on April 2nd but I was moving April 1st to a new house. I said to my husband he has to come out before the 31st of March so we can go home and move.
Well it was 9 pm and I was getting really bad contractions that night, but I told my husband it was nothing, I told him to go to bed. I woke up at 6 am in pain and told him that I thought I was in labour and I wanted to shower and stuff first before I went to the hospital. 7:30 am rolled around and I was in the shower and he was timing the contractions; they were 3 mins apart. We started getting scared, he still had to go pick up my sister from 45 minutes away to watch my 4 year old son!
He left to get my sister and when he came back I was leaned over the coffee table with my 4 year old rubbing my back ( couldnt ask for a better helper ) we went to the hospital; I was 9 cm dialated when I walked in the door. The Nurse delivered my son because my Dr couldnt make it there quick enough. Luckily my husband thinks he's a race car driver or my 4 year old would've had to deliver his brother. Needless to say there wasn't time for me to even ask for medication or think about it, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Giving birth naturally has to be the most empowering thing I have ever done. My little man was born on the 29th of March giving me enough time to come home from the hospital and move. I think moving a day after giving birth was more painful than giving birth!
